The Howl Experience Retreat

We believe transformative art comes from transformative experiences. Our recent retreat, supported by The Howl Experience as a micro-grant recipient, allowed us five days of creativity and reflection at The Deanery Project in Eastern Nova Scotia.

We focused on community, sustainability, and storytelling influenced by nature and diverse cultures, with inspiring contributions from The Deanery Project, Everyone Everyday Halifax, and The Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History.

From planting trees and repairing structures to late-night conversations and magical swims, we learned that creating a sustainable community space requires vision and collaboration. The retreat highlighted the importance of integrating Indigenous knowledge and a “two-eyed seeing” approach in our practice, which we’re eager to apply in future projects.

We're grateful to The Howl Experience, The Deanery Project, and all the wonderful individuals who made this journey possible. Stay tuned for our new creative work aimed at fostering connection and positive change.
