Love Notes from North End — "Africville Basin"

Selected as one of four featured artists for the North End Business Association's Valentine's Day postcard series, Love Notes from North End, Nahom created an original artwork titled "Africville Basin" — a piece rooted in research, memory, and deep admiration for one of Halifax's most storied communities.

The work visually explored the history, creativity, and resilience that define the North End, drawing on experiences with the area alongside a deeper dive into the legacy of Africville.

The postcards were distributed free of charge across cafes, restaurants, and businesses throughout the North End, putting art directly into the hands of the community it celebrates.
