OUR WAY HERE: A SHARED JOURNEY

Our Way Here: A Shared Journey is a free, registration required art workshop series organized by Cultured Creative Studio, inviting community members, especially newcomers, to explore creativity, identity, and belonging. Through shared storytelling and creative collaboration, participants will build connections and reflect on what it means to feel welcomed, seen, and rooted in a new place.

This workshop offers an opportunity for participants to collectively work on an artwork, insights from established newcomer artists from various background, practical information and connections to local resources for newcomer artists in Halifax. Participants will showcase their artwork at a community event with local arts professionals from organizations like Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Dalhousie Art Gallery and Nocturne Festival to name a few.

These workshops will be lead by Nahom Assefa, a multidisciplinary artist and founder of Cultured Creative Studio whose work focuses on cross-cultural storytelling. He will be joined by co-facilitators: Macarena Carreno, Leen Bakri, Annie Basu, and Claudia Manco ready to share each of their unique experience as new comer artists in Halifax.

Workshop Location:  Wonder'neath Art Society (2482 Maynard St, Halifax)

Time: 6 PM - 9 PM

Dates: September 18th and 25th, October 4th for the community event
